Saigon (another name — Ho Chi Minh city) meets us with noise and dust. Here the roar is such as if hive of hornets was ruined. The biggest problem for tourists that are for the first time here are scooters, they are everywhere, even where none is expecting them to be. Sometimes it seems imposible to cross the street, they are simply ignoring any traffic signal but you just need to take it as it is and cross the road. Go without doubts, in a confident and predictable way — they will see you. The second biggest problem here - a few people speak English. Only in the big cities and in the center it is more or less ok. In small towns everything is written only in Vietnamese. Also in small and even large cities a few places accept credit cards but ATMs are everywhere.

In Ho Chi Minh city there is a large market called Ban Than Market — before it was the Central market for the locals, now it is a place for tourists, prices are much higher here than in supermarkets. If you want to buy coffee or fruits it is better to do in small markets or hypermarkets.

Сайгон или по другому Хошимин встречает шумом и пылью. Здесь гул такой как-будто где-то разорили улей с шершнями. Самая большая проблема для туристов, первый раз оказавшихся здесь, это мопеды — они везде, даже там где их не должно быть. Иногда, кажется, дорогу перейти не возможно, машины и мопеды едут на любой сигнал светофора, но вам нужно просто взять и перейти дорогу. Идите смело, но уверенно и предсказуемо — вас объедут. Вторая большая проблема здесь мало кто говорит на английском. Только в больших городах и их центрах дела обстоят более менее. В крохотных городах все меню и указатели только на вьетнамском. Так же мало где принимают карточки, но банкоматы есть везде.

В Хошимине есть большой рынок Ban Than Market — раньше это был центральный рынок для местного населения, теперь это место где туристы отовариваются, цены здесь на порядок выше чем в супермаркетах. Если вы хотите купить кофе или фрукты лучше это делать на мелких рынках или в гипермаркетах.
